MB012 : The Elevators - "Your I's are too Close Together" ( πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§1980)

Formally known as the Stains, The Elevators emerged from the Leicester (UK) scene in 1978. "Your I's are too Close Together" was their sole 45 and was released in 1980.
Having been promised visits by A & R executives from major Record Companies,
which never materialised, it took a "Koala Records" producer to discover them at a Gig
before they made it onto Wax. Released in July 1980 it instantly picked up airplay on "Radio 1" in the UK by John Peel and Andy Peebles and the song reached number 44 in the Indie Charts. However, success was not to follow, despite the quality of the Band and Songs, they disbanded in 1981. Now, fast forward 40 years later and MeanBean Records bring you the "Eighties sound of the Sixties" with the re-release of this single in a very limited edition. With it's intriguing and confusing title, "Your I's are too Close Together" is a stellar Power Pop Track and is highly rated by any respected collector with impeccable taste. As with most MB reissues, getting hold of an original copy of this record is a lifetime task on it's own, and that is why this reissue will appeal to all "Powerpearls" digger in you ! Fully legit and limited to 300 copies with repro of OG promo sheet and promo Picture Card.
